DDOSC New Bataan reps dominate Nat’l Arts Month tilt

In an impeccable showcase of their artistic mettle, Davao de Oro State College New Bataan branch students snatched six first place podium finishes in the recently concluded 2024 National Arts Month Celebration.

The competition, held at the DDOSC Main Campus Activity Center, saw participation from hundreds of students across all four DDOSC campuses. New Bataan dominated the event, securing the top plums in Kundiman, Radio Drama, Rural Folk Dance, Charcoal Rendering, Photo Contest, and On-the-spot Poster Making.

Compostela representatives were not far behind, claiming top honors in Live Band, Short and Sweet Play, Contemporary Dance, and Hip-hop Dance. Maragusan and Montevista campuses, meanwhile, tied for third place with two gold medals apiece, winning in Pop Solo, Painting, Vocal Duet, and Pencil Drawing categories, respectively.

Jeric Suguis, MAEd, the College’s Socio-Cultural Coordinator, commended the students’ outstanding display of talent. He also highlighted that selected members from the winning groups will represent DDOSC in the upcoming Regional Challenge, which serves as the qualifier for the prestigious Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) National Socio-Cultural Competition scheduled later this year.

This event not only celebrates the vibrant artistic culture within DDOSC but also provides a platform for talented students to compete on the national stage, potentially bringing honor and recognition to themselves and the College. (DDOSC-PIU)
