DDOSC hosts bomb threat awareness seminar NTF-ELCAC orientation

Davao de Oro State College, through its Campus Safety and Management Unit, held the Crime Prevention Symposium today at the DDOSC Covered Court in Compostela, Davao de Oro.

The two-part symposium featured the Bomb Threat Awareness Seminar and the Executive Order No. 70 orientation.

In partnership with the Provincial Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Canine Unit of Davao de Oro, the morning session saw participants educated about various types of bombs, including how to identify Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

Additionally, the DDOSC personnel also learned about bomb prevention measures and appropriate actions to take when a suspected bomb is discovered within the school’s premises.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, the employees of the college took part in the E.O. 70 orientation, or the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.

NTF-ELCAC is a whole-of-nation approach to defeating the local communist terrorist group and obtaining sustainable and inclusive peace throughout the Philippines.

The NTF-ELCAC representatives discussed the current anti-communist efforts and highlighted that Davao de Oro has been declared an insurgency-free province since June 2022. This status is credited to the effective peace and order initiatives that dismantled the remnants of the communist New People’s Army (NPA) in the area.

Among the resource persons were Police Master Sergeant Ritchie N. Flores, PSSG Eugene A. Pagas, and Police Chief Master Sergeant Benjie R. Paqueo from the Provincial Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Canine Unit, alongside 1LT Edencio N. Pulmon (OS), CO Bravo Company, 25 IB, , and SSG Morino Tayoc, Bravo Company, 25 IB, from the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The said endeavor highlights DDOSC’s continued support for the peace and order initiatives within its communities.
