DDOSC student bags 2nd place in National Stat Month tilt

Lysander E. Roquero, a student under the Teacher Education Department from the Main Campus, took home second place in the Digital Poster Making competition (College Category) during the 35th National Statistics Month Inter-School Contests held on October 11, 2024, at the DepEd Training Center, Poblacion, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro.

Themed “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation”, the one-day affair pitted junior high, senior high, and college students from across the province in digital poster-making and infographics-making contests.

Roquero, a third year student from the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics program, was coached by Dr. Mark P. Laurente.

Meanwhile, John Brian B. Saren, a third year Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship student, settled for the consolation prize for the Infographics Making Contest.

Davao de Oro State College Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay congratulated Roquero for his achievement and expressed pride in how this achievement reflects the creative prowess and talent of DDOSC students.

Aside from these two events, the Philippine Statistics Authority-Davao de Oro is also hosting the Photography and Jingle Dance contests as part of the month-long 35th NSM celebration.
