LGU Laak donates 2-hectare land for DDOSC Laak Extension

In a strong showing of support for the students in their municipality, the Local Government Unit of Laak, led by Mayor Hon. Antonio โAy-Engโ Libuangan, formally signed the deed of donation for a two-hectare parcel of land intended for the Davao de Oro State College-Laak Extension Class on February 26, 2025, at the LGU Laak Conference Room, Laak, Davao de Oro.

Hon. Libuangan, in his message, reiterated his full support for the DDOSC Laak Extension class and hopes that DDOSC Laak will soon become a full-fledged branch and will offer additional programs.

โI hope that once this building is finished, we can offer more programs. โฆ Also, my support for this [DDOSC Laak] is truly 101%,โ stressed Mayor Libuangan in Visayan.
Meanwhile, DDOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, who also signed the deed of donation as the head of the College, expressed her gratitude for the donation and assured that the land will be utilized responsibly for the benefit of students in Laak and across Davao de Oro.

โFor the LGU, this is an assurance that we will utilize this parcel of land as intended. We will responsibly use the parcel of land, especially for the benefit of the youth of Davao De Oro as a whole, and the Laak constituencies,โ said Dr. Matunhay.

Also present during the ceremony were DDOSC officials, including Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Gloryjean C. Altamera, Academic Services Division Director Dr. Pedro P. Raymunde Jr., Project Management Unit Head Engr. Ian Dave P. Corteza, Administrative Services Division Director Janice C. Hermosilla, and DDOSC Laak Extension Class Coordinator Merry Ann P. Desucatan.

On the other hand, joining Mayor Libuangan are Acting Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Ella Liza L. Vidal, Secretary to the Sanggunian Luwalhati M. Nasol, and Municipal Budget Officer Rosalie C. Gutual.

This donation comes at the heels of the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony of a โฑ250-million infrastructure project for DDOSC Laak Extension, further solidifying its role in providing quality education to the youth of Laak.

Currently, the DDOSC Main Extension Class – Laak caters to 183 students under the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program.
