DDOSC Community Comes Together for Bloodletting Drive

Serving as one of the highlights of the celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), Davao de Oro State College, in partnership with the Municipal Local Government Unit of Compostela, concluded the Bloodletting Activity today, September 11, 2025, at the DDOSC Activity Center.

Spearheaded by Pathologist Dr. Merilyn Cunang, the event gathered participants from MLGU Compostela employees, DDOSC personnel, students, and community members.

A total of 47 donors were able to take part in the drive after undergoing a careful screening process to ensure both donor safety and the quality of the collected blood.

College Nurse Kristina Zaida Y. Bisenan, RN, expressed her gratitude to the volunteers for their generosity and commitment to this endeavor.

“Through the years, we can always count on DDOSCians, as well as other stakeholders, to join in our commitment to donating to the national blood bank,” said the Health Services Unit Head.

As a token of appreciation, donors were treated to a hearty meal following their blood donation.

One of the participants, Michelle G. Jadman, shared her thoughts on the experience, noting that such initiatives reflect the core duty of civil servants.

“It is part of our sworn responsibility to answer the call of service, and donating blood is one meaningful way of doing so.”

The activity not only supported the national blood bank but also strengthened the spirit of service and solidarity within the DDOSC community.
