Capt Nival Leads Info Drive Against CTGs

Captain Jade Karl J. Nival, commanding officer of the 1st Civil-Military Operations Company, led an information drive against Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) and Executive Order No. 70 on September 18, 2025, at the barangay gymnasium in San Miguel, Compostela, Davao de Oro. Organized by the Extension Services Division of Davao de Oro State College with the Barangay Local Government Unit of San Miguel and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the activity aimed to inform the public about local communist groups and government peace programs through an interactive lecture, distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, and hands-on safety demonstrations for about ninety faculty, staff, and residents.

The program included a community fair where residents tried army vests, helmets, and a miniature vehicle, an energizer featuring local officials, and the awarding of certificates. In his presentation, Captain Nival discussed the history and threats of armed conflict, cited lessons from incidents like the Marawi Siege, and outlined the role every community member has in preventing terrorism. He also shared practical community-safety tips and invoked civic responsibility. Mrs. April Rose Dianne A. Villaro, DBM, head of the Extension Services Unit, closed the event, noting strengthened community partnerships and increased awareness of social protection programs as key outcomes.
