DOST XI concludes RSTW at CNHS
The Department of Science and Technology Region XI (DOST XI) successfully celebrated the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) from August 20 to 22, 2025, held at Compostela National High School, Compostela, Davao de Oro.
With the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” the event highlighted the crucial role of science, technology, and innovation in fostering sustainable development and improving the quality of life in local communities.
The three-day celebration served as a convergence of innovators, researchers, educators, students, and industry partners to promote the advancement and application of science and technology in various sectors across the Davao Region.
The Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC), through its Innovation Unit, actively participated as one of the exhibitors during the RSTW. Representing the institution were Mr. Domy Bonn M. Untalan, Innovation Unit Head and IPTBM Project Leader, together with Engr. Bench Carlo Refogio, Mr. Lee Serot, Mr. Brennan Jay Cortado, and Ms. Elsa B. Torres.
The DDOSC team showcased the DigiHub, an innovation and technology platform designed to promote digital transformation and support startup development within the region.
In addition, the team presented various products and outputs from the college’s Research and Development (R&D), Extension, and Production Divisions, emphasizing DDOSC’s commitment to innovation-driven community development and technology transfer.
Through their participation, the Davao de Oro State College demonstrated its active involvement in advancing scientific and technological initiatives that contribute to the local economy and community empowerment.
The RSTW 2025 served as an excellent platform for knowledge exchange, partnership building, and public awareness of the importance of science and innovation as key enablers of progress toward a more resilient and sustainable future. (Elsa B. Torres)
