DDOSC M&E committee joins PAEPI Region XI capacity building, inaugural assembly
Upholding monitoring and evaluation as key drivers of accountability across every extension initiative, the Davao de Oro State College, through its Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Committee of the Extension Services Division (ESD), participated in the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementers (PAEPI) Region XI Capacity Building on Extension Results: Leadership, Monitoring, and Impact and Inaugural Assembly held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), Davao City.
The event carried the theme “Strengthening Extension Accountability through Monitoring, Evaluation, and Impact Assessment,” and gathered extension leaders and implementers from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) across the Davao Region.
Representing DDOSC were Dr. Jeson N. Geroche, Chairperson of the M&E Committee and Director for Extension Services Division, alongside committee members and fellow ESD personnel, April Rose Dianne A. Villaro, DBM, Sharmine Faith A. Mahumas, MM, and Jeffrey Z. Mata, MAEd.
The occasion brought together esteemed guests and academic leaders, including Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr., President of USeP; Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, CHED Region XI Regional Director, represented by Dr. Christopher Pio O. Pulido; and Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, PASUC XI President and SUC President III of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC).
Meanwhile, Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia, PAEPI National President, served as the keynote speaker, delivering an enlightening presentation that emphasized evidence-based practices in “Monitoring, Evaluation, and Impact Assessment (MEIA) in Extension: Making Results Matter.”
Later in the event, Dr. Geroche had the opportunity to share DDOSC’s extension accomplishments, including the completed project he led titled Farmers Field School on Sustainable Rice Production, as well as the aims, ambitions, and current accomplishments of the College’s banner programs: Program DASIG, Program DILAAB, Program LEAD, and Program INSPIRE.
Before the event ended, the DDOSC M&E Committee took part in the oath-taking ceremony as official members of PAEPI, reinforcing DDOSC’s active collaboration and dedication to advancing transparent and results-oriented extension services across the region.
