Battle for ‘one piece’ rages on in final day of Crim Fest 2025

With four fearless crews sailing the proverbial seas in search of the ultimate treasure, Davao de Oro State College transformed into a grand maritime battleground as the Crim Fest 2025 reaches its thrilling climax today, November 7, 2025.

The three-day spectacle, which hoisted its sails on November 5, saw the Alpha White Beard Pirates, Bravo Red Storm Pirates, Charlie Blue Beast Pirates, and Delta Black Abyss Pirates locked in fierce competition, each determined to seize glory and claim the fabled “One Piece.”

In her opening address, Maida Mae B. Calpo, MSCrim, Program Head of the Criminology Department, called upon all privateers to navigate the high seas with valor, camaraderie, and sportsmanship, reminding them that true champions conquer not only battles but also themselves.

Coinciding with the Philippine Criminology Profession Week, Crim Fest 2025 featured a bounty of events, including obstacle course challenges, hip-hop dance, Mr. and Ms. Crim Fest, basketball, badminton, e-sports, and more, designed to test the mettle, skill, and spirit of the four pirate crews.

As of this writing, the Alpha White Beard Pirates helm the leaderboard en route to the grand treasure with 13,900 points, trailed closely by the Bravo Red Storm Pirates with 13,580.

Meanwhile, the Delta Black Abyss Pirates and Charlie Blue Beast Pirates remain in hot pursuit with 13,260 and 13,160 points, respectively, each crew hoping for one final wind to turn the tide.

Anchored on the theme “Charting Beyond the Horizon: One Crew, One Dream, One Champion,” the festival not only celebrated the unity and vigor of future criminologists but also served as the official selection ground as the department readies its spyglasses and cutlasses for the upcoming Kumbate 2025.
