DdOSC brings gifts and learning, seals partnership in Sitio Cambudlot
A day like no other. Davao de Oro State College, through the collaboration of various divisions and units, successfully carried out a community outreach dubbed ‘Serbisyong Puso’ at Gov. Vicente G. Duterte Elementary School (GVD-ES), in Sitio Cambudlot, San Miguel, Compostela, Davao de Oro, on Friday, December 12, 2025.
The event featured gift-giving, a social protection seminar, and the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the two parties for DdOSC Main’s banner program, ‘DASIG: Delivering Assistance for a Sustainable and Inclusive Growth: A Community Empowerment Extension Program.’
The activity commenced with Dr. Jeson N. Geroche, Director for Extension Services Division, who expressed his pride in the partnership. He highlighted that even when the community is quite far, it was worth it just to see how warm the welcome was and how fulfilling it was to be there.
Right after, the official signing began with DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, Dr. Jeson N. Geroche, Program Leader April Rose Dianne A. Villaro, DBM, and GVD-ES Head Teacher Oscar R. Blasé Jr.
The excitement went high with an interactive games segment led by Internationalization Unit Head Karesha Faith C. Cañetan and Human Resource Management Unit Head Reah C. Niog. The games were filled with laughter as kids put straws in bottles, played with ropes, and grouped themselves in the “boat is sinking” game.
Simultaneously, Legal Unit Head Atty. Mil L. Lorono led a seminar on social protection among the parents, discussing key points such as forms of Violence Against Women, its supporting laws, and what each man and woman can do to contribute to a safer society for all.
As the two activities ended, school supplies, meals, toys, and snacks were distributed to the pupils, wearing great smiles on their faces as they enjoyed the meals and looked in awe at their new items. The funds used for this were raised from the Bazaar for a Cause event on September 29, 2025, and the succeeding donation drive spearheaded by the Legal Unit in celebration of National Volunteerism Month.
Dr. Lilybeth Matunhay expressed her support, as the day served not only as a time for volunteerism and the sharing of joy and hope, but also as a promising grand kick-off for the DdOSC Main’s very own banner program, DASIG, led by Program Leader April Rose Dianne A. Villaro, DBM.
GVD-ES Head Teacher Oscar R. Blasé Jr. expressed his gratitude for the program. He highlighted how their school still in its early stages and in need of support, making the partnership all the more meaningful.
