SUC PRESIDENT'S INTRODUCTION

On June 10, 2024, Davao de Oro State College welcomed its second President, Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay. With a career spanning over two decades, she brings a wealth of experience and visionary leadership as DDOSC moves into the future.
President Matunhay holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Studies and has an impressive track record in both academic and administrative leadership. Prior to joining DDOSC (formerly Compostela Valley State College), she served as Assistant School Administrator of the University of Southeastern Philippines – Compostela for seven years and as a faculty member for 15 years.
At DDOSC, she took on several key leadership positions: Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development, Acting Board Secretary, Branch Director of CVSC New Bataan Branch, and Chair of the Research Ethics Committee. She was appointed as the second College President on June 10, 2024, succeeding Dr. Christie Jean V. Ganiera, CESE. Her leadership has also extended to roles such as President of the Faculty Federation and member of the CVSC Board of Trustees (2015–2018).
From July 2021 until June 9, 2024, she served as Chief of Administration and Finance, where she ensured efficient and sustainable operations across the institution.
Beyond administration, President Matunhay is also a prolific researcher. Her work has been published in respected international journals and cited worldwide, reflecting the impact of her contributions to the global academic community.
As President, she envisions DDOSC’s direction for 2024–2028 through the acronym CRADLE: Cultivate a vibrant educational ecosystem, Research and Development (R&D) aligned with local and global priorities, Advancement in governance and services, Diversification of production, Leadership excellence, and Empowerment of all stakeholders. This vision drives academic excellence, innovation, and societal impact.
