DDOSC bets win big PASUC Regional Fest, to compete in national stage

Panabo, Davao del Norte – Three acts from the Davao de Oro State College took home the top plum in their respective events during the 2024 Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Regional Culture and Arts Festival on March 22, 2024.
 
The DDOSC Live Band, Radio Drama, and Charcoal Rendering entries all emerged and have secured their place in the 2024 National PASUC Culture and Arts Festival hosted by the Philippine Normal University on April 23-25, 2024.
 
Aside from the three national qualifiers, DDOSC also showed impressive results in other competitions.
 
In musical arts, DDOSC’s talents shone brightly as the Vocal Duet and Piano both snagged first runners-up finishes. Additionally, strong performances by the Vocal Solo (Pop and Kundiman) and Classical Guitar representatives resulted in second runner-up placements.
 
The college’s dance groups also impressed, with the Folk Dance and Street Dance teams bagging first runner-up awards, while the Contemporary Dance team secured a second runner-up finish.
 
Similar success resonated in the visual arts category, where DDOSC students garnered first runner-up positions in the Short and Sweet Play, Photo Contest, On-the-spot Poster Making, and Painting competitions.
 
The College President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, who was present during both the opening and closing programs, expressed her great pride at the impeccable showing of the students and thanked the coaches for their guidance.
 
Meanwhile, The three national qualifiers are now gearing up to not only represent DDOSC but also bring honor to Region XI on the national stage.
