DDOSC Researchers showcase studies at Int’l Research Fest
Nine faculty and staff researchers from Davao de Oro State College presented their completed research at the 3rd International Research Festival, held October 28-29, 2024, at Big 8 Corporate Hotel in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
The DDOSC presenters included:
- Lee M. Serot: Development and Properties of Laminated Cacao Pod Husk (CPH) and Waste-Paper Composite Board with Banana Stem Sheet and Glue as Binder
- John Patrick L. Arcite: The Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction on the Relationship between Organizational Justice and Employee Loyalty among Tertiary Education Employees
- Marianne N. Runas: Disclosing the Code-Switching Practices and Extent Among English Pre-service Teachers: A Sequential Exploratory Design
- Iana Angelika B. Limoico: Voices from the Tent City: A Qualitative Exploration of the Evacuees’ Experiences in the Aftermath of the Earthquake Disaster
- John Patrick L. Arcite: The Use of Number Memory Game in Enhancing Kindergarten Students’ Skills in Number Recognition: A Quantitative Action Research
- Orville J. Evardo: Jump into Hopscotch: A Game-Based Approach in Enhancing Students’ Proficiency in Illustrating Triangle Congruence Postulate
- Jeffrey Z. Mata: Collaborative Artistic Timeline-Making to Enhance Students’ Chronological Thinking Skills in Learning World History: A Qualitative Action Research
- Ivan A. Perin: 5F Method: An Intervention for Grade 7 Students in Enhancing Their Problem-Solving Skills in Algebra-Based Word Problems
- Jerven Bregaño: Effects of GeoGebra Application on the Performance of College Students in Geometry
With the theme “Futuring Together: Shaping Local Solutions, Leveraging Global Connections,” the festival served as a collaborative platform, encouraging advancements in biodiversity, technology, innovation, food science, humanities, culture, and education.
Additionally, DDOSC personnel, led by Research and Development Division Director Jupite Mark U. Banayag and Futures Thinking Focal Lovely Mae F. Deoric, also extended their assistance throughout the two-day affair as part of the Technical Working Group.
DDOSC was also one of the event partners, joining institutions such as Hiroshima University, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), the Southern Mindanao Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SMAARRDEC), and the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, with Davao del Norte State College as the lead organizer.
Meanwhile, in her message, DDOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay emphasized the power of collaboration in addressing community challenges and reaffirmed DDOSC’s staunch commitment to furthering the futures thinking initiatives and programs.
