493 DDOSC Practice Teachers Pinned in Symbolic Send-off

Davao de Oro State College held its 8th Pinning Ceremony for practice teaching interns under the Teacher Education Department across its campuses for this school year.

This marks a significant milestone for the 493 aspiring educators under the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) and Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) programs as they embark on their three-month teaching internships across various public schools in the province.

Joined by their proud parents and guardians, the interns from DDOSC’s Main Campus, Montevista, Maragusan, and New Bataan campuses were officially recognized in a solemn yet celebratory event attended by key officials, faculty members, and representatives from partner DepEd schools.

In her message, DDOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay urged the interns to embrace the evolving challenges of modern classrooms while cultivating patience and empathy to guide their students toward success.

DDOSC Montevista was the first to hold its pinning ceremony on December 13, 2024, with 63 practice teachers (BSEd-34, BEEd-29). DDOSC Main Campus followed on January 17, 2025, with 176 interns (BSEd-101, BEEd-75).

The final ceremonies took place on January 23, 2025, with DDOSC New Bataan pinning 71 interns (BSEd-52, BEEd-19) and DDOSC Maragusan recognizing 183 practice teachers (BSEd-130, BEEd-53).

The pinning ceremony serves as a symbolic rite of passage, signifying the interns’ transition from academic learning to hands-on teaching experience.
