DDOSC athletes snag medals in NSCUAA 2025

Two student-athletes from Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) made their mark on the national stage, bringing home bronze medals from the 2025 National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (NSCUAA) Games, held from April 22 to 27 across various venues in Camiguin Island.
Jerheome Baguio, a Bachelor of Science in Criminology student from the Main Campus, captured bronze in the Taekwondo Lightweight Category (68–74 kg), while Jecob D. Madrona, a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education major in Filipino from the Montevista Campus, secured a bronze medal in the Boxing Pin Weight Division.
This year’s NSCUAA Games, hosted by Camiguin Polytechnic State College, gathered athletes from all 16 regions of the country to compete in 38 sporting events, with matches staged at the CPSC grounds and the Cong. Pedro P. Romualdo Sports Complex.
The victories of Baguio and Madrona underscored the growing competitiveness of DDOSC’s student-athletes, showcasing their ability to stand toe-to-toe with the country’s college athletes.
Leading DDOSC’s 20-member contingent were Jeric E. Suguis, Section Head of Sports, Cultural, and Arts Development, and Jake D. Colindres, Sports Coordinator. The College’s athletes also formed part of the 484-strong Davao Region delegation.
DDOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, who personally attended the opening ceremonies to support the participants, congratulated the medalists and commended the entire delegation, calling their achievements a reflection of their unmatched dedication, hard work, and school spirit.
