DdOSC joins regionwide writeshop for SCOPUS publication

In a continuing push to strengthen its research culture and expand publication productivity, Davao de Oro State College participated in the SCOPUS-Ready: A Regional Writeshop on Research Publication and Global University Rankings in partnership with the Global Health Focus (GHF) University Excellence initiative, on February 23-24, 2026, at the World Palace Hotel in Davao City.

DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, led the 20-person DdOSC delegation, which also included Research and Development Division Director Jupite Mark U. Banayag, Extension Services Division Director Dr. Jeson N. Geroche, Production Services Division Director Dr. Jennifer T. Pelegrino, and Academic Services Division Director Dr. Pedro P. Raymunde Jr.

The College’s engagement in this writeshop forms part of its strategic efforts to enhance faculty research competencies, strengthen institutional research profiles, and align publication outputs with measurable citation and ranking targets.

The activity brought together Presidents and official delegations from six Davao Region State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), including DdOSC, Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), and University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), aiming to provide practical, hands-on guidance in crafting Scopus-ready manuscripts and in understanding the performance indicators used in major global ranking systems.

Throughout the two-day activity, the sessions combined technical training, institutional goal-setting, and collaborative planning to ensure that research outputs are translated into greater academic visibility and measurable global impact.

In her message, Dr. Matunhay emphasized that the engagement marks a vital step as DdOSC strengthens its position as a consistent producer of SCOPUS-indexed research publications, supported by a sustainable research ecosystem anchored in quality, collaboration, and measurable impact.
