DDOSC RDD Agency In-House Review (AIHR) 2025 Advances Community-Driven Research

Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC), through the Research and Development Division (RDD), conducted its Agency In-House Review (AIHR) on December 12, 2025, highlighting the College’s continuing efforts to promote a strong and responsive research culture across its campuses.

The activity formally opened with an inspirational message from Dr. Lilybeth Matunhay, SUC President I, delivered through Ms. Maria Raye Madriaga, Executive Assistant to the SUC President. In her message, Dr. Matunhay reaffirmed the administration’s full support for research initiatives and reminded faculty researchers that research outputs should always serve the community. She emphasized innovation and relevance as key directions in ensuring that research contributes meaningfully to local development.

A total of 79 research proposals were submitted for the in-house review, reflecting the active participation of faculty researchers and the growing enthusiasm for research within the institution. These proposals were clustered under three thematic areas: Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, and Education and Social Science, all of which align with the priority development areas of Davao de Oro.

Each thematic area was reviewed by a panel of experts composed of experienced researchers and subject specialists. The Agriculture proposals were evaluated by Dr. Alminda M. Fernandez and Dr. John Paul L. Matuguinas, while the Entrepreneurship proposals were reviewed by Dr. Carlo Jay P. Albite and Dr. Christian Paul S. Moyon. For the Education and Social Science category, the panel members included Dr. Grace D. Buencillo, Dr. Aldwin T. Miranda, Dr. Leo D. Rayon Jr., Dr. Jevannel G. Borlio, Dr. Meliza P. Alo, Ms. Rikka Bianca Condes, Dr. Clarice M. Cabrera, and Dr. Jocelyn A. Matildo.

Following the review process, the proposals will undergo final evaluation. Research projects that meet the required standards will be granted institutional funding to support their implementation. These funded studies are expected to generate practical outputs that will benefit the College, partner communities, and stakeholders.

The RDD Agency In-House Research Review continues to serve as an important venue for nurturing faculty research, promoting collaboration, and ensuring that DDOSC research initiatives remain grounded in local needs and institutional priorities. (Orville Evardo Jr.)
