DdOSC holds outreach program in Sitio Cambudlot, signs MOA for Project DASIG
Davao de Oro State College strengthened its commitment to community engagement as it conducted the outreach program “Serbisyong Puso: MOA Signing, Pamaskong Handog, and Volunteer Month Celebration” at Governor Vicente G. Duterte Elementary School (GVGDES) in Sitio Cambudlot, San Miguel, Compostela on December 12, 2025.
Led by DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, volunteer faculty, staff, and students arrived at GVGDES to carry out community engagement activities, extend support to learners and families, and strengthen the College’s partnership with the local community.
The activity commenced with the welcome remarks from Dr. Jeson N. Geroche, Director of the Extension Services Division, who emphasized that the initiative aims to uplift the spirits of students and residents while reinforcing the College’s commitment to inclusive development.
Meanwhile, in her inspirational message, Dr. Matunhay highlighted the importance of compassion and volunteerism, emphasizing that sustained community engagement remains central to DdOSC’s mission of expanding opportunities for the people of Davao de Oro.
The program then proceeded with the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement for Project DASIG, or Delivering Assistance for a Sustainable and Inclusive Growth.
Project leader Dr. April Dianne Rose A. Villaro noted that this community empowerment extension program aims to provide sustained capacity-building support to partner schools and communities by focusing on education, livelihood awareness, and strengthened stakeholder collaboration.
Legal Unit Head Atty. Mil L. Lorono then facilitated a Social Protection Seminar for parents, providing essential guidance on rights, welfare, and family-related legal concerns.
Simultaneously, Internationalization Unit Head Karesha Faith C. Cañetan led a series of recreational and developmental activities for the local students.
To conclude the outreach, volunteers distributed school supplies and holiday gift packs to GVGDES learners, bringing warmth and cheer to the community ahead of the holiday season.
The event was spearheaded by the Human Resources Management Unit in coordination with the Research and Development Division, Extension Services Division, Production Services Division, Internationalization Unit, Legal Unit, and Internationalization Leadership Council.
