DdOSC reps end RCAF 2026 stint with 16-medal haul

PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte — Davao de Oro State College wrapped up its campaign in the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges XI (PASUC XI) Regional Culture and the Arts Festival (RCAF) 2026 with a total of 16 medals, highlighted by four gold finishes, during the awarding ceremony held on March 8, 2026 at Davao del Norte State College.

Leading the College’s medal haul were championship victories in Radio Drama, Live Band, Essay Writing, and Instrumental Solo (Violin).

DdOSC also secured five silver medals in Oratorio, Dramatic Interpretation, Show Choir, Instrumental Solo (Piano), and Street Dance.

The gold-winning Radio Drama team was composed of Mae Kimberly G. Lastimoso, Jerome D. Perez, Jan Rex Jims D. Ignacio, Mikaela Madel C. Perpas, and Escolastico M. Jagotin Jr.

Meanwhile, Vin Justin Cosgapa and Cris Lourince A. Repogio delivered top finishes for the College in Instrumental Solo (Violin) and Essay Writing, respectively.

The Live Band entry was composed of Klent Jay Ozy P. Morabe, Butch O. Aracena, Shynde Dominique G. Madrazo, Althea O. Abacial, Klint Jay G. Marabe, James Lloyd B. Pacquiao, and Eric Vliz A. Decatoria.

Notably, the Radio Drama and Live Band teams extended DdOSC’s winning tradition, securing their third consecutive RCAF championships, continuing a streak that began in 2018.

Completing the College’s medal tally were seven bronze finishes in Duo Acting, Pandalawahang Pag-arte, Quartet, Song Writing, Instrumental Solo (Banduria), On-the-Spot Poster Making, and Painting.

With their championship victories, the four gold medalists earned the right to represent the region at the National Culture and the Arts Festival (NCAF), scheduled for April 2026 in Iloilo City.

Sports, Cultural, and Arts Director Dr. Jeric E. Suguis, who led the 97-member DdOSC delegation, expressed pride in the student-artists’ performance, citing their discipline, creativity, and dedication throughout the competition.

“This achievement reflects the talent, perseverance, and collaborative spirit of our student-artists and coaches. Their commitment to excellence continues to bring honor not only to the College but also to the entire province of Davao de Oro,” Suguis exclaimed.

DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay likewise congratulated the participants and coaches for their commendable performance and assured the College’s full support to the qualifiers who will compete in the upcoming national festival.

The PASUC XI RCAF, which ran from March 6-8, 2026, gathered student-artists from state universities and colleges across Region XI, including DdOSC, DNSC, University of Southeastern Philippines, Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology, Davao del Sur State College, and Davao Oriental State University.
