DDOSC athletes shine in 2024 ROTC Games

Showing off their athletic mettle, Davao de Oro State College student-athletes ended their 2024 Philippine Reserved Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Games Mindanao Leg stint with an impressive haul of one gold and two bronze medals.

Karen G. Penpeña shined the brightest as she took home the gold medal in the 100M sprint and added a bronze in the 200M sprint.

Penpeña’s exceptional performance has earned her a spot in the National ROTC Games, scheduled for August 18-24, 2024.

Meanwhile, the DDOSC volleybelles also made their mark as they secured the bronze medal in the women’s volleyball.

Although the men’s basketball team missed out on a podium finish, they concluded their campaign with a commendable 3-win, 1-loss record.

“Congratulations to all our athletes! I, along with the rest of the DDOSC community, am extremely proud of your achievement,” said DDOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay.

The Mindanao Leg of the 2024 ROTC Games was held in Zamboanga City and featured participants from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), CHED-Recognized Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and Private Higher Education Institutions across Mindanao.
