LGU Compostela Formally Donates Lot for Maparat Farm Laboratory

In a significant show of support for the learners of Davao de Oro, the Local Government Unit of Compostela and Davao de Oro State College formally signed the Deed of Donation of the lot where the Maparat Farm Laboratory is situated today at the DDOSC Presidential Conference Room.

DDOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay and Compostela Mayor Hon. Levi S. Ebdao led the ceremonial signing of the deed, formalizing the donation of a 50,000 m² parcel of land in Barangay Maparat, Compostela, through Municipal Resolution No. 2024-6937.

In his message, Mayor Ebdao reiterated the Compostela LGU’s commitment to supporting the College in its mission to advance education. He expressed optimism that the Maparat Farm would become a valuable hub for academic and research endeavors, benefitting both students and faculty.

Joining Dr. Matunhay from the DDOSC administration and academic leadership were Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Glory Jean C. Altamera; Chief for Administration and Finance Kim F. Baloca, CPA; General Services Unit OIC Head Janice D. Hermocilla; Research and Development Division Director Jupite Mark D. Banayag; Academic Services Division Director Dr. Pedro P. Raymunde Jr.; and Agriculture Department Program Head Franz Joseph B. Gonzales.

Meanwhile, Mayor Ebdao was accompanied by Sangguniang Bayan Members Hon. Harry C. Cabiling, Hon. Rogelio P. Econar, Hon. Juric G. Blanco, Hon. Elmer Paul B. Bangcasan, Hon. Haidee C. Suarez-Jimenez, Hon. Mylene Bacote, and Hon. Norbert L. Lejano.

In her message, Dr. Matunhay expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Ebdao and the Compostela LGU for their generosity and underscored that the donation will significantly enhance DDOSC’s capacity to provide hands-on learning experiences, particularly in agriculture and research.

The Maparat Farm Laboratory is expected to play a crucial role in advancing the College’s agricultural program, promoting agricultural sustainability, enhancing research capabilities, and strengthening industry-academe partnerships.
