Bayanihan sa PCSA: DdOSC brings public service spirit to Brgy. Aurora
Selected families under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and residents of Barangay Aurora, Compostela, Davao de Oro participated in a day of learning, recreation, and community engagement on September 24, 2026, as Davao de Oro State College conducted an outreach activity featuring theA dopt-a-Family Program, capability training, recreational activities, and the distribution of essential kits and game prizes in celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).
Following the opening remarks from Dr. Jeson N. Geroche, Director of the Extension Services Division, Dr. Gloryjean C. Altamera, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing how government employees must embody the spirit of public service through their willingness to serve the public.
Representing Barangay Captain Alejandro G. Ladroma, Barangay Official Rutchel Panza likewise expressed his appreciation to DdOSC for extending support to the barangay’s families.
Under the Entrep Extends: A Financial Sustainability Project (BLGU-Aurora), the outreach featured a simultaneous training activity for the parents and residents of Barangay Aurora entitled “Seminar on Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset: Fostering Confidence, Creativity, and Self-Reliance,” facilitated by Juma P. Wabinga, April Rose Dianne A. Villaro, and Juanita C. Leopoldo. The training encouraged participants to develop confidence, creativity, self-reliance, and an entrepreneurial perspective that can contribute to their personal and economic development.
While the training was being conducted, recreational games were simultaneously held for the daycare children, facilitated by the Human Resource Management Unit and other concerned DdOSC personnel. They hosted fun and competitive games such as Stop Dance, a fish-fanning game, and puzzle activities. These activities gave the children an opportunity to engage, interact, have fun, and showcase their competitiveness.
Through the Adopt-a-Family Program, DdOSC Main Campus offices, units, and sections contributed Health Kits and Learning Kits for their assigned 4Ps families. The Health Kits contained basic hygiene necessities, while the Learning Kits provided essential school supplies for children and learners. Offices across the DdOSC Main Campus also contributed prizes for the community games, including candies, chocolates, and biscuits.
As the 126th PCSA continues throughout September, DdOSC’s community outreach in Barangay Aurora stands as one of the College’s initiatives to celebrate the anniversary through service that directly reaches a Davao de Oro community.
