Criminology interns showcase crime-fighting skills, readiness in Internship Culmination
Under the scorching Compostela sun, graduating Bachelor of Science in Criminology interns of Davao de Oro State College marked the completion of their internship journey during the Criminology Internship Culmination Ceremony today, May 14, 2026, at the DdOSC Grounds in the Main Campus.
Carrying the theme, “Anchored in Compassion, Driven by Service: Shaping the Future of Public Safety,” the ceremony marked a significant academic milestone for the criminology interns of Batch “Sindasig” Class of 2026 after completing their field exposure and practical training with partner law enforcement, jail management, and fire protection agencies.
The program featured the declaration of completion of internship by Dr. Gloryjean C. Altamera, Vice President for Academic Affairs, followed by the distribution of certificates to the interns and partner agencies.
PCPT Jimmy S. Quiacusan, Deputy Chief of Police for Administration of Compostela Police Station, served as the guest speaker and delivered words of inspiration to the graduating interns, emphasizing the value of discipline, service, and commitment in the field of public safety.
Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, SUC President I, also delivered her message to the criminology interns, recognizing their perseverance and reminding them to carry the values of DdOSC as they move closer to becoming future professionals in the field of criminology and public service.
A highlight of the program was the interns’ demonstration of crime-fighting and emergency response skills, which included techniques in subduing an illegal drug suspect, arnis performance, and rope-based rescue operations for disaster response.
The ceremony also featured dance presentations from the interns, adding a celebratory tone to the culmination as their families, loved ones, College officials, faculty members, and partner agencies witnessed the milestone.
Several partner agency heads and representatives also graced the event, including representatives from the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office, Nabunturan Police Station, Compostela Police Station, Montevista District Jail, Montevista Police Station, and Compostela Municipal Fire Station.
