DdOSC clears 2-day on-site validation for GADTimpala bid

Davao de Oro State College demonstrated institutional compliance and best practices in gender and development (GAD) programs, marking the conclusion of the two-day on-site validation conducted by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) for the GADTimpala for Outstanding Gender-Responsive State Universities and Colleges, today, April 14, 2026, at the College Boardroom, Main Campus.

The validation, a crucial phase in the national screening process, evaluated the College’s policies, systems, and outcomes in mainstreaming gender responsiveness across instruction, research, extension, and administrative functions.

Leading the evaluation were PCW GAD validators Caryl Joyce Gatapia, Hannah Jean Jimala, and Gabrielle Dane Marigondon, who carried out comprehensive document reviews, site inspections, and stakeholder interviews.

The activity was conducted through a hybrid setup, enabling participation from select PCW and Commission on Higher Education validators via Zoom Teleconference.

Central to the assessment was the Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework, a self-assessment tool utilized by the Gender and Development Focal Point System to measure institutional gains and identify areas for improvement in integrating GAD perspectives.

Meanwhile, DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay conveyed her strong support, affirming that the College remains steadfast in institutionalizing gender-responsive policies and programs that uphold inclusivity, equity, and empowerment across all sectors of the academic community.

The PCW noted that the results of the on-site validation will undergo a post-validation review as part of the final deliberation process for the prestigious GADTimpala recognition, with the awarding ceremony slated for August 2027.
