DdOSC holds tree nurturing activity in Maparat

With bolos, machetes, and rakes, teaching and non-teaching employees of the Davao de Oro State College, through its Ecological Solid Waste Management Unit (ESWMU), conducted a Tree Nurturing Activity today June 25, 2026 at the DdOSC Maparat Farm Extension, Compostela, Davao de Oro.

Held in observance of Philippine Arbor Day, an annual national celebration every June 25 dedicated to environmental conservation and tree planting.

The activity focused on clearing and cleaning the areas surrounding trees planted years ago to help improve their growth and ensure their continued survival.

By removing weeds and other growth barriers, the initiative aimed to create a healthier environment for the young trees to thrive.

Led by ESWMU Head Cyrille Eve R. Milay, DdOSC employees also planted 50 molave seedlings, Vitex parviflora, a native Philippine hardwood tree known for its durability and ecological value.

Through activities like this, DdOSC reaffirms its commitment to ecological stewardship, biodiversity protection, and sustainable environmental practices, in line with its Ecological Solid Waste Management Program.
