DdOSC hosts coordination meeting to strengthen climate and disaster resilience in Davao de Oro

Davao de Oro State College (DdOSC), Alinea International through the Governance for Climate and Disaster Resilience (Gov-CDR) Project, and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) convened for a Coordination and Alignment Meeting on July 2, 2026, at the College President’s Conference Room, DdOSC.

The meeting focused on aligning efforts for the implementation of priority interventions identified by the Province of Davao de Oro based on the Climate Change and Disaster Resilience Assessment. This collaboration aims to strengthen local capacities to anticipate, respond to, and recover from natural hazards and the impacts of climate change.

Present during the meeting were Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, SUC President I; Mr. Froilan A. Morales, Gov-CDR Provincial Project Coordinator for Davao de Oro of Alinea International; Ms. Nikka Kay Paco, Senior Administrative Staff of the Research and Planning Division, PDRRMO; Dr. Jenifer Peligrino, Director of the Production Services Division; Dr. Jeson N. Geroche, Director of the Extension Services Division; Jupite Mark U. Banayag, Director of the Research and Development Division; and Dr. Jeffrey Z. Mata, Faculty of the Education Department.

Also highlighted during the meeting was the presentation of the institutional research titled “Strengthening Community Disaster Resilience in Davao de Oro through Evidence-Based Extension Partnerships,” emphasizing the important role of research, extension, and multi-sectoral partnerships in building safer and more resilient communities.

Through the shared commitment of DdOSC, Alinea International, and PLGU-PDRRMO, this partnership continues to advance evidence-based, inclusive, and community-centered approaches toward climate and disaster resilience in Davao de Oro.
