DdOSC-Maragusan honors 291 graduates, 49 completers in 9th commencement rites
Davao de Oro State College-Maragusan Branch conferred degrees on 291 graduates and recognized 49 completers during its 9th Commencement Exercises held at the Maragusan Cultural Center on June 26, 2026.
The commencement ceremony, themed “Resilient Foundation, Expanding Horizons: Empowering Graduates for Sustainable Development,” marked another milestone for the Maragusan branch by recognizing graduates from the teacher education, agriculture, and entrepreneurship programs.
DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay led the formal conferment of degrees to the graduates, composed of 145 Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship graduates, 39 Bachelor of Elementary Education graduates, 29 Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies graduates, 26 Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English graduates, 20 Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics graduates, 16 Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Animal Science graduates, nine Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Crop Science graduates, and seven Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology graduates.
The College also recognized 49 completers of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program.
Following the conferment, the graduates received their diplomas and certificates, while academic excellence and leadership awardees were recognized for their outstanding achievements.
Serving as commencement speaker, DdOSC-Maragusan alumnus Jayson E. Efhan, Project Assistant I of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office XI, reminded the graduates that poverty should never be treated as a hindrance to success.
Drawing from his own journey as a former student of the College, Efhan encouraged the graduates to remain determined, resilient, and committed to their dreams despite the challenges they may encounter beyond graduation.
Meanwhile, delivering the valedictory address, Magna Cum Laude Sheryl Mae P. Nabalos of the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English reflected on the sacrifices, perseverance, and collective triumphs of the Class of 2026.
She urged her fellow graduates to remain resilient as they pursue new opportunities in the real world, carrying with them the lessons and values shaped by their journey in DdOSC-Maragusan.
Representing Davao de Oro Governor Hon. Raul G. Mabanglo, Chief of Staff Anecito Torrejos extended the provincial government’s congratulations to the graduates and their families.
He encouraged the graduates to soar to greater heights and prove themselves worthy of the trust and investment that the government and the people have placed in them.
The ceremony concluded with the graduation song, What Dreams Are Made Of, followed by the pledge of loyalty and alumni pledge.
