DdOSC undergoes 1st ISO 9001:2015 surveillance audit

Reaffirming its commitment to institutional excellence and the continued effectiveness of its Quality Management System (QMS), Davao de Oro State College commenced its two-day ISO 9001:2015 First Surveillance Audit today, October 14, 2026.

The external audit, scheduled for October 14–15, is conducted by Worldwide Quality Assurance (WQA) Philippines, Inc., through its audit team composed of Nellie Ang and Engr. Homer Alcon.

The surveillance audit seeks to evaluate the College’s continued conformity with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, assess the effectiveness of its quality management processes, and identify opportunities for continual improvement across its operations and services.

During the opening program, DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay welcomed the external auditors and process owners representing various offices and units of the Main Campus.

In her message, Matunhay underscored the College’s guiding mantra, “Every day is an audit day,” emphasizing that quality assurance is a continuous institutional responsibility embedded in daily operations, processes, and service delivery rather than an exercise confined to scheduled assessments.

Echoing this commitment, Quality Assurance Unit Head Nova Mae B. Nasol stressed that the effectiveness of the College’s QMS is ultimately reflected in the consistency and quality of services delivered to its stakeholders.

“The true measure of our quality management system is not the certificate we maintain, not the ISO certification, but the quality of service we consistently deliver even when no auditor is watching,” Nasol emphasized.

The audit encompasses a broad range of institutional functions and processes, including top management, strategic planning, human resource management, procurement, and other core institutional operations.

During the opening meeting, the WQA audit team also outlined the assessment methodology, which includes personnel interviews, direct process observation, review of documented information, and record sampling to verify compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, applicable statutory and regulatory provisions, and established institutional procedures.

The two-day audit will culminate in a closing meeting, during which the external auditors are expected to present their findings, observations, and recommendations concerning the implementation and effectiveness of the College’s QMS.

As an integral component of maintaining ISO 9001:2015 certification, this activity provides an independent assessment of DdOSC’s continued adherence to internationally recognized quality management standards, reinforcing its commitment to institutional accountability, operational excellence, and a culture of continual improvement in the delivery of quality education and public services.
