Davao de Oro State College brought home top honors at the Southern Mindanao Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SMAARRDEC) 39^th Founding Anniversary and Regional Symposium on Research, Development and Extension Highlights on August 19-20, 2026, at SPAMAST, Malita, Davao Occidental.

The two-day conference gathered researchers, stakeholders, and partners in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector under the theme, “Advancing Frontiers in AANR Research: Empowering Student Innovation for Sustainable Futures.”

Student researchers Johny Wilson C. Aleonar and Jopel D. Bodongan, who secured 2^nd Place in the Student Conference for AANR for their innovative product, Animama, a locally developed hard confectionery formulated with honey, ginger, garlic, and calamansi, coached by Dr. Jennifer T. Pelegrino.

DdOSC also recorded additional podium finishes, with Livy V. Sarucam-Moldez earning 3^rd Place in the Poster Presentation category and Dr. Pelegrino clinching 3^rd Place in the RAISE XI: InnovAANR Pitch Fest 2026.

The multiple recognitions highlight the College’s continuing pursuit of research excellence and innovation, with its commitment to contributing to sustainable development and the advancement of the AANR sector.
