DOST RXI thru PSTO de Oro hand over funds for IHUBS DDOSC
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) successfully conducted the turnover of the cheque budget intended for the Innovation Hubs (iHubs) to Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) last January 12, 2026. The activity marked a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between DOST and DDOSC, reinforcing their shared commitment to strengthening innovation, research, and technology-driven initiatives within the province of Davao de Oro.
The budget turned over is specifically allocated for the procurement of office equipment essential to the operationalization and effective functioning of the iHubs. This support is expected to enhance the capability of DDOSC to provide a conducive environment for innovation, collaboration, and research-based activities for students, faculty, and stakeholders.
Beyond the formal turnover, representatives from DOST, Maam Laarni Albacite, Maam Grace Ricardo, and Sir Jonel John Zabala together with Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, DDOSC SUC President I, Sir Jupite Mark Banayag, Research and Development Division Director, Dr. Jeson Geroche, Extension and Services Division Director, and Dr. Elizer Rebucas, Innovation Unit Head engaged in discussions on various matters related to the implementation of the iHubs. Key topics included strategic planning and coordination for the upcoming launching activities, as well as aligning timelines, roles, and responsibilities to ensure the successful rollout of the iHubs initiative.
The activity highlighted the strong collaboration between DOST and DDOSC and underscored their mutual goal of fostering a culture of innovation and technological advancement in the province. The continued partnership is expected to contribute significantly to local development by empowering innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs through accessible and well-supported innovation facilities.
