Dr. Matunhay joins PNVSCA virtual program, banners DdOSC volunteerism activities

Davao de Oro State College President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay served as one of the resource persons during Episode 2 of the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) Online TV on January 31, 2025, which was conducted via the Zoom platform.

In her presentation, Dr. Matunhay highlighted the College’s sustained volunteerism initiatives, including community outreach programs, student-led volunteer engagements, and other activities that promote awareness and participation in volunteer service.

“Tradisyon na namin taon-taon, na tuwing sasapit ang pasko, ang maghatid ng serbisyo sa mga liblib na lugar sa aming probinsya,” shared Dr. Matunhay.

(It has become our yearly tradition every Christmas to provide services to the remote areas of our province.)

Dr. Matunhay joined other volunteerism champions from State and Local Universities and Colleges across the country, including Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, President of the City College of Cagayan de Oro, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, President of Pangasinan State University, Dr. Merian C. Mani, President of Romblon State University; Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta, President of Marinduque State University.

Meanwhile, also present during the virtual session were PNVSCA Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe, CESO III; Iloilo Business Club President Maria Luisa Segovia; Pampanga State University of Agriculture Head of External Linkages John Paul S. Viray; and Provincial Government of Aklan Volunteer Core Team Member Paul Adrian Pelayo.

The PNVSCA is the government agency mandated to promote, coordinate, and integrate volunteer programs in support of the country’s socio-economic development.
