RDEP Summit 2026 powers innovation, partnerships

Davao de Oro State College, through its Research and Development Division (RDD), Extension Services Division (ESD), and Production Services Division (PSD), convened innovators, researchers, extensionists, and development partners during the RDEP Summit 2026 held on April 27 to 29, 2026 at the DdOSC Main Campus Activity Center.

In line with the national observance of Innovation Day, the three divisions jointly organized the summit as part of the College’s active participation in the campaign under the theme “Filipinnovation in Action: Advancing Responsive Research, Extension, and Production for Resilient and Sustainable Community Development in Davao de Oro.”

The three-day event featured Research, Business Plan, and Extension Project Presentations, alongside pop-up shops and exhibit booths showcasing innovative products, services, and outputs, including the official launch of the DdOSC Golden Merch.

The culmination program on the last day of the summit featured plenary sessions led by distinguished speakers from key government and academic institutions.

The plenary speakers included Dir. Mayan Jane J. Inni, Chief Science Research Specialist and Assistant Regional Director of DOST Region XI, Lauro M. Aguanta, Assistant Professor IV and Extension Head of the University of Southeastern Philippines–Mabini Unit, and Sheilla Gracia M. Humol, Chief Trade and Industry Development Specialist II from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Davao de Oro Provincial Office.

In her message, College President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay emphasized the significant role of innovation in shaping resilient communities and urged participants to translate research, extension, and production initiatives into tangible solutions that directly benefit society.

Furthermore, the summit also highlighted the ceremonial signing of a Trademark Licensing Agreement between DdOSC and 16 partner licensees, marking a significant step in expanding the College’s innovation efforts.

The summit capped with its competitive component, recognizing outstanding participants across various categories.

In the Institutional Research Category, Diosdado Jr. Cruz, MSc of the Criminology Department, Main Campus, earned both the Best Paper and Best Presenter awards.

Under the Research Paper Student Category, Ricky Caballero of the Teacher Education Department, Main Campus, secured the Best Paper Award, while Miles Benedict Soriao of the New Bataan campus received the Best Presenter distinction.

In the Business Plan Category, Norvin Alcano of the New Bataan Teacher Education Department won both the Best Business Plan and Best Presenter awards.

In the Extension Category, Wendy Mae W. Dulos from the Entrepreneurship Department, New Bataan, was recognized as Best Presenter.
