A total of 147 faculty members of Davao de Oro State College have applied for faculty position reclassification under the second implementation cycle of the Department of Budget and Management-Commission on Higher Education (DBM-CHED) Joint Circular No. 3, series of 2022.

Under DBM-CHED Joint Circular No. 3, reclassification refers to the advancement of a faculty position from one rank or sub-rank to another based on the evaluation of a faculty member’s achievements and performance using a standard set of criteria.

Furthermore, the JC3 serves as the primary guide for faculty promotion and advancement for DdOSC teaching personnel across all campuses.

For the current cycle, accomplishments from August 1, 2023, to July 31, 2026 are covered in the evaluation.

Faculty accomplishments are assessed across four Key Result Areas: Instruction, Research, Extension Services, and Professional Development, covering teaching, scholarly work, community engagement, and continuing professional growth.

To facilitate the implementation of the reclassification process, DdOSC constituted its Institutional Evaluation Committee (IEC) through Special Order No. 0520-01, series of 2026, issued on May 20.

The committee is chaired by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Gloryjean C. Altamera, with Academic Services Division Director Dr. Pedro P. Raymunde Jr., BEED Maragusan Program Head Dr. Rholey R. Picaza, former Research Services Division Director Jupite Mark U. Banayag, Extension Services Division Director Dr. Jeson N. Geroche, Faculty Federation President Rieshia P. Vale, and faculty representative Dr. Leo E. Wenceslao as members.

The IEC is primarily tasked with conducting the preliminary evaluation and validation of faculty applications, consolidating the results, maintaining supporting documents, and endorsing the final evaluation to the appropriate body.

With the evaluation process underway, DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay expressed her full support for faculty members.

“I am proud of our faculty members and sincerely hope their hard work and accomplishments lead to the promotions they deserve,” shared Dr. Matunhay.

Currently, the highest faculty ranks in the College are held by Dr. Jeson N. Geroche (Associate Professor V), Dr. Gloryjean C. Altamera (Associate Professor IV), and Dr. Rholey R. Picaza (Associate Professor II).
