Cong. Maricar, Gov. Mabanglo reward DdOSC topnotchers, honor graduates
NABUNTURAN, DAVAO DE ORO – Davao de Oro Governor Raul G. Mabanglo and First District Representative Hon. Maria Carmen “Maricar” S. Zamora-Mabanglo came together to award cash incentives to Davao de Oro State College board examination topnotchers and Latin honor graduates on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Provincial Capitol Activity Hall.
Governor Mabanglo led the awarding ceremony, which recognized March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) topnotchers Gretchel Jane B. Ladora, who placed fifth, and Ivy Gwen Villaganas, who ranked eighth.
Ladora received PHP200,000, while Villaganas received PHP100,000 in cash incentives from Hon. Zamora-Mabanglo in recognition of their outstanding performance in the licensure examination.
The incentives for DdOSC board examination topnotchers form part of Cong. Zamora-Mabanglo’s years-long practice of recognizing graduates who bring distinction to the College and the province through exemplary performance in professional licensure examinations.
Meanwhile, 84 DdOSC graduates from the College’s four campuses who earned Latin honors during the 2026 commencement exercises each received PHP10,000 in recognition of their academic excellence.
The financial incentives fulfilled a commitment made by the governor during the DdOSC-Montevista Branch Commencement Exercises on June 22, 2026, where he delivered a message and pledged cash incentives for DdOSC graduates who earned Latin honors.
In his message, Governor Mabanglo said the accomplishments of the awardees are a source of pride for Davao de Oro, stressing that their achievements reflect the talent, perseverance, and potential of the province’s youth.
He also emphasized the importance of sustaining support for programs and initiatives that recognize academic excellence and motivate students to pursue higher levels of achievement.
Governor Mabanglo likewise acknowledged the continuing support of Hon. Zamora-Mabanglo, whom members of the DdOSC community have referred to as the “Queen Mother of DdOSC,” for her longstanding commitment to the College and its stakeholders.
Her support through the years has extended across various areas of DdOSC’s needs, including student development, academic programs, institutional initiatives, and the recognition of outstanding graduates and licensure examination performers.
DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay expressed gratitude to Governor Mabanglo and Hon. Zamora-Mabanglo for recognizing the achievements of the College’s graduates and for their continued support for DdOSC.
Pres. Matunhay underscored that such sustained support strengthens the College’s efforts to develop competent and socially responsive graduates who can contribute meaningfully to Davao de Oro’s workforce, communities, and overall development.
Also present during the ceremony were Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Gloryjean C. Altamera; Academic Services Division Director Dr. Pedro P. Raymunde Jr.; DdOSC-Montevista Branch Director Rieshia P. Vale; DdOSC-New Bataan Branch Director Wendy Mae W. Dulos; DdOSC-New Bataan Academic Services Section Head Dr. Gabrelle D.
