Davao de Oro State College strengthened its community development and public service mandate through the ceremonial signing of the institutional Memorandums of Agreement for seven ongoing extension programs and projects for Calendar Year 2026 earlier today, May 14.

The MOA signing covered several extension initiatives, including Program DASIG (Delivering Assistance for a Sustainable and Inclusive Growth), a community empowerment extension program; Program LIFE (Literacy, Food, and Entrepreneurship Enhancement); and YOU MATTER (Youth Optimization and Upliftment: Mainstreaming Advocacy and Training for Transformative Engagement and Recovery).

Also formalized during the activity were Project TRAIN or Training for Resilience and Innovation for Local Entrepreneurs; Project ACHIEVE or Active Collaboration with Higher Education Institutions for Enhanced and Vibrant Math and Science Education for both BEED and BSED programs; Entrep Extends, a financial sustainability project with BLGU-Aurora; and Project CACAO or Cacao Advancement through Comprehensive Agricultural Optimization.

Held at the DdOSC Boardroom, Main Campus, the activity gathered project implementers and DdOSC upper management led by SUC President I, Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, and Extension Services Division Director Dr. Jeson N. Geroche.

The MOA signing was geared toward formalizing collaborative initiatives to address community needs through education, livelihood development, entrepreneurship, agriculture, youth empowerment, and capacity-building.

In his message, Dr. Geroche emphasized the role of extension services in bringing the expertise and resources of the College closer to communities, noting that the signed agreements would serve as a framework for stronger collaboration, accountability, and sustained community engagement.
Meanwhile, Dr. Matunhay highlighted extension work as a vital expression of the College’s mission to create meaningful impact beyond the classroom.

She also thanked the project implementers for answering the call to respond to real community needs while empowering stakeholders through inclusive and sustainable interventions.

Through these agreements, DdOSC reinforced its commitment to delivering responsive extension programs that promote inclusive growth, strengthen local capacities, and create sustainable opportunities for partner communities.
