497 Entrep Students Pinned, Launch Business Plans

Davao de Oro State College, through its Entrepreneurship Department, successfully conducted the 3rd Pinning Ceremony and Business Plan Launching today, September 5, 2025, at the Main Campus Activity Center.

With the theme “From Vision to Venture: Empowering Change through Innovation,” the affair highlighted the readiness of 497 fourth-year Entrepreneurship students to turn their business plans into actual entrepreneurial action.

Entrepreneurship Department Dean Ninio B. Manilag, MBA, opened the program by urging students to create impact: “Your vision has the power to become a venture. Turn ideas into action, plans into practice.”

Following this, SUC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay affirmed the government’s commitment to education and innovation: “The government has invested in you since day one. You just have to come to DDOSC with your dreams and aspirations.”

Meanwhile, guest speaker Jelford A. Teves, LPT, MEd, owner of Tito J, challenged the students to start strong: “Do not be afraid to start small. Every big business begins with a single step, and with passion, innovation, and perseverance, your ideas can grow into something far greater than you imagine.”
Moreover, Business Plan Implementation Instructor Demi-Liza Ozoa, CHRA, reminded the students of the pin’s significance: “Be bold. Be brave. Don’t stop learning.”

The ceremony also welcomed Ma’am Arbelyn Maceren, Branch Manager of Nabunturan Integrated Cooperative (NICO), with Sir Christopher Oberes, reinforcing industry-academe linkages.

Capping the event was the ribbon-cutting of MERKADDOSC, the College’s hub for student-led enterprises, marking the official launch of business plans and providing a platform where innovative ideas can thrive.
