Davao de Oro State College strengthened its push for global academic alignment in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by hosting the webinar dubbed “Prompt Engineering for Educators” today, April 15, 2026, via Zoom Teleconference.

The initiative, aligned with the objectives of the International Relations Officer Network (IRON) XI, convened teaching and non-teaching personnel, as well as education students from DdOSC, Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), and Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), alongside participants from Luzon, Visayas, and neighboring SUCs across Mindanao, including international attendees from India and Thailand, to strengthen their competencies in artificial intelligence, particularly in crafting effective prompts for AI tools.

DSSC Director for International Affairs and Relations Dr. Ana Marie J. Matalines provided the rationale for the activity, emphasizing collaboration as a key to achieving regional education goals.

DdOSC International Affairs Unit Head Karesha Faith C. Cañetan then highlighted the value of partnerships in advancing academic excellence in an era where harnessing the power of AI is inevitable.

Meanwhile, the heads of all three institutions, including DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, DSSC President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes represented by VPAA Dr. Siverlyn M. Camposano, and SPAMAST President Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, conveyed strong institutional support for advancing globally competitive education.

Serving as the keynote speaker, Dr. Rizza Ramos Consad of Bukidnon State University discussed the Audience Persona Pattern, a prompting strategy that guides large language models (LLMs) to generate context-specific content that meets the needs of intended users in educational settings.

She also stressed that integrating AI in education not only enhances instructional delivery but also prepares students with adaptive, globally relevant competencies.

Through this, DdOSC continues to position itself as a forward-looking institution, bridging global standards and local relevance while empowering educators to thrive in an increasingly digital and interconnected world.
