Dr. Matunhay Pledges Full Support for RSTW 2025
Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay graced the opening of the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) 2025 on August 20, 2025, at the Compostela National High School Gymnasium, Compostela, Davao de Oro.
“DDOSC pledges to mobilize its faculty, students, and research teams for RSTW activities, showcase innovations through the DigiHub and exhibits, support capacity-building efforts, and strengthen partnerships that promote STEM education, environmental care, and grassroots innovation,” Dr. Matunhay said in her message during the opening program.
She also congratulated the Department of Science and Technology (DOST XI), the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), and the local government for bringing the RSTW to Compostela, commending their efforts to inspire and engage the province’s promising students.
With the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Matatag na Kinabukasan – Building Smart and Sustainable Communities,” the Davao de Oro leg of the RSTW runs from August 20 to 22, 2025.
Among the main highlights of the packed array of activities for RSTW 2025 were the Planetarium Exhibit by DOST–PAGASA, the Salinlahi Symposium with NAST, the Tower Building Competition, the Robotics Forum, and other interactive activities.
Also present at the opening were DOST–XI Davao de Oro Provincial Director Mayan Jane J. Inni, PFT; Rex Victor O. Cruz, representing NAST Director Luningning E. Samarita-Domingo; Sandy G. Yee, Principal IV of CNHS–Junior High School; Janeth C. Arregadas, Principal I of CNHS–Senior High School; and Executive Assistant IV Anecito A. Torrejos, representing Davao de Oro Governor Hon. Raul G. Mabanglo.
