Pres. Matunhay, directors join 3-day PASUC Annual Convention, General Assembly

Davao de Oro State College, led by College President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, participated in the 2026 Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Annual Convention and General Assembly, July 13-15, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City.

Joined by presidents and academic heads of SUCs nationwide, the three-day gathering aims to strengthen institutional leadership and strategic academic governance through knowledge sharing and collaboration to advance sustainable and inclusive higher education.

Accompanying Pres. Matunhay were Research and Development Division Director Jupite Mark U. Banayag, MSc; Extension Services Division Director Dr. Jeson N. Geroche; and Production Service Division Director Dr. Jennifer T. Pelegrino.

The convention, themed “Transformative Leadership and Strategic Governance: Empowering SUCs for Sustainable and Inclusive Futures”, featured high-level dialogues with national Higher Education Institution (HEI) leaders, including plenary sessions on governance, innovation, digital transformation, research, and human capital development, providing them with strategic insights into emerging opportunities and challenges shaping the country’s public HEI sector.

Meanwhile, SUC bigwigs engaged in Leaders’ Exchange Sessions with experts from government, industry, and international organizations to share institutional initiatives, learn from best practices, and identify collaborative strategies that promote effective governance and quality higher education.

Through DdOSC’s annual participation in the convention, the College strengthens its commitment to continuously enhancing institutional excellence, fostering strategic partnerships, and adopting responsive governance approaches in the Philippine higher education landscape.
