TED Conducts Pre-Deployment Orientation for FSSs

The Teacher Education Department (TED) of Davao de Oro State College–Main Campus successfully conducted its Field Study 1 and 2 Pre-Deployment Orientation today, August 18, 2025, at the DDOSC Covered Court.

This year’s batch, composed of 159 Field Study Students (FSSs), will officially begin their field study on August 20, 2025, and will be deployed to various public elementary and secondary schools within the municipality.

Academic Services Division Director Dr. Pedro Raymunde, Jr., in his inspirational message, congratulated the FSSs for this milestone and emphasized the importance of the experience that awaits them.

Furthermore, he encouraged them to make the most of their deployment, saying that the field study is “the perfect opportunity to apply every learning theory, classroom management strategy, and pedagogical practice” they have acquired at DDOSC.”

The orientation highlighted the policies, guidelines, and requirements for the Field Study 1 and 2 courses, which are designed to prepare students for the realities of classroom teaching.

These courses aim to immerse students in the school environment, allowing them to observe, reflect, and engage in meaningful learning experiences prior to their formal internship.

The event also witnessed the oath-taking of the newly elected officers of the Consortium of Senior Educators for the Academic Year 2025–2026, marking their importance as the FSSs navigate the demands of their FS 1 and 2.

Through the Pre-Deployment Orientation, TED ensures that its Field Study Students are well-prepared and equipped to face the challenges of actual classroom settings, bridging the gap between theory and practice as they take their first steps toward becoming professional educators.
