DdOSC cracks top 50 in 3 WURI categories
In a stunning debut on the global stage, Davao de Oro State College placed within the top 50 in three categories of the recently released 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).
The college, participating in the WURI rankings for the very first time, earned Rank 19 in Entrepreneurial Culture and Ecosystem, Rank 33 in Social Impact Through Knowledge Transfer, and Rank 47 in Student Support and Engagement.
Quality Assurance Unit Head Nova Mae B. Nasol, who spearheaded the preparation and submission of the institution’s entries for WURI consideration, shared that the achievement reflected the collective efforts of the entire College community in strengthening programs and initiatives anchored on innovation and service.
“This recognition affirms that the initiatives and best practices of DdOSC are creating real and meaningful impact not only within the institution but also in the communities we serve,” Nasol stressed.
Meanwhile, DdOSC President Lilybeth M. Matunhay congratulated all offices, units, faculty members, staff, students, and stakeholders who contributed to the achievement and emphasized that the recognition inspires the institution to continue advancing excellence and innovation in higher education.
“We are immensely proud of this debut performance. It validates our identity as the cradle of golden opportunities and challenges us to sustain this momentum in serving our students, our communities, and the industries we engage with.”
WURI is a global ranking system that evaluates universities and colleges not on traditional metrics like research volume or academic reputation, but on their real-world contributions, practical innovation, and ability to create value for industry and communities.
