Davao de Oro State College formally ushered 158 practice teachers into teaching internship as the Teacher Education Department held its 9th Pinning Ceremony today, December 5, 2025, at the DdOSC Activity Center in Compostela.

The ceremony, themed “Pins of Promise: Future Teachers for a Brighter Future,” marked a significant milestone for graduating students from the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) and Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) programs as they prepare to commence their teaching internship in January 2026.

Of the 158 practice teachers (PTs), 42 are from BSEd English, 43 from BSEd Mathematics, 28 from BSEd Science, and 45 from the BEEd program.

During the program, BSEd Program Head Dr. Pedro P. Raymunde Jr. and BEEd Program Head Dr. Mark P. Laurente led the endorsement of the PTs for teaching internship.

Afterwards, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Gloryjean C. Altamera confirmed the attendees for teaching internship, confirmed their eligibility for internship, followed by the ceremonial pinning of name tags by their parents and guardians, symbolizing their readiness to step into the classroom.

In her message, Dr. Altamera congratulated the practice teachers for this achievement and emphasized the responsibility that comes with shaping the next generation of learners.

“And always, let us embody the values of excellence, integrity, and solidarity in all our actions in the classroom and beyond,” reminded the VPAA.

For their deployment, BSEd practice teachers will be assigned to Compostela National High School, Gabi National High School, Maparat National High School, and San Miguel National High School.

Meanwhile, the BEEd PTs will complete their internship at Compostela Central Elementary School–SPEd Center, Osmeña Elementary School, and Lagab Elementary School.

The pinning ceremony stands as a reaffirmation of DdOSC’s commitment to producing competent, value-driven educators who will contribute to quality education in the province and beyond.
